Illustrated title page, list of plates and 4 other colour plates (one double page). The plates in this are very pretty pastel shades. A very good copy, boards a little dusty, contents bright and plates crisp.
Hogg, a Scottish poet known as the "Ettrick Shepherd," enjoyed a vogue during the ballad revival that accompanied the Romantic movement and this edition includes his two best known poems "The Witch of Fife" and "Kilmeny". Jessie King's soft and romantic illustrations are perfect accompaniments.
