First edition. 8vo. One of 500 copies printed on hand made paper. This copy unnumbered, but inscribed by the publisher, "Réservé à l'ami H. Monnier, cordialement, René Kieffer." Pictorial wrappers with Art Deco style design in black outline with blue pochoir decoration. In original protective glassine wrapper. Twenty pochoir illustrations. A near fine copy, light rubs to spine ends and glassine slightly tanned.
The delicate drawings for this book were prepared during Jessie's stay in Paris. They are reproduced using the stencilling technique known as pochoir, which gives the colours a great clarity. The book was printed by Rene Kieffer who was well known in Paris for his innovative book designs and techniques.
