Eight tipped in colour plates by Alfred Rawlings and thirty six drawings by Warrington Hogg. A very good copy of this uncommon variant binding. Contemporary gift inscription to verso free endpaper.
Some of the Sundials featured are listed as being owned by Sir Frank Crisp of Friar Park, Henley on Thames, later the home of George Harrison.
Jessie M. King, the cover designer, was a student at the Glasgow School of Art. She studied under Charles Rennie Mackintosh and after winning an award at the Turin Exhibition for her book binding design, went on to become a collectable book illustrator and jewellery designer. An uncommon variant
