First edition illustrated by Pogany. 8vo. Blue cloth decorated and lettered in gilt, top edge gilt the rest uncut. Thirteen tipped in colour plates under captioned tissue guards by Pogany, one with a tiny corner turn. A very good copy, bright and clean, with just general light wear, previous owner's name on the free front end paper.
A Victorian tale of two children shipwrecked on a tropical island in the South Pacific, a coming of age tale. A 1980 film version of the story starred the young Brooke Shields.
