An original ink and watercolour illustration, on board, heightened with gum arabic. Signed and dated in the lower left hand corner. 27 x 20 cm. The image is in exceptionally good condition, with colours bright and unfaded.

This superb original watercolour appears as an illustration on page 152 of Christie Young's "The Black Princess and other Fairy Tales from Brazil".

PROVENANCE: Lot 105 Sotheby's London, October 1982: Private Collection until November 2008.
