First edition. 8vo. Olive cloth blocked black to the upper cover with gilt titles to the spine, blind borders to the lower cover and floral endpapers. Six aquatint plates, including a frontispiece of Tom Morris, and black and white illustrations in the text by Ranald Alexander and others. A near fine copy with only very slight wear to the extremities and an ownership inscription to the verso of the frontispiece.
Said to be 'a lineal descendant', though much enlarged and changed, of Rambling Remarks on Golf, edited by Charles Chambers's father, Robert in 1862.
