First edition. Deluxe issue on handmade paper, Number 426 of 1030 copies SIGNED by Arthur Rackham. Large 4to. Full white buckram. Gilt lettering and vignettes. Top edge gilt and others untrimmed. Forty-four colour plates (one with light corner crease) mounted onto brown art paper, each one protected by a tissue guard bearing a printed caption. There are also eleven black and white drawings. A very good copy, the spine is dusty.
The illustrations in this book are split into sections which include: pictures of little people, classics, some fairy tales, some children, grotesque and fantastic and a section entitled "various". They cover all of Rackham's different styles and provide a most wonderful "book of pictures".
