First edition illustrated with colour plates by Arthur Rackham. 8vo. Blue moiré silk cloth with elaborate gilt embossed decoration to both upper cover and spine. Top edge gilt. Pictorial endpapers with line drawings, one man distinctly reminiscent of the artist himself. Twelve colour plates with captions printed below including frontispiece with tissue guard. Numerous line drawings in the text. A near fine copy, with a contemporary gift inscription on the half title and just the slightest wear to the spine ends and corners.
