Having illustrated the poem in 1909 Pogany revisited Omar Khayyam's verse in 1930 with a completely new set of illustrations, commenting "My last Omar pictures... are quite different from the Omar Khayyam I did in London years ago. But I think they are just as true to the Oriental spirit. I have Westernized and modernized Omar more, but perhaps I have interpreted him more nearly to present day readers."
