ONE OF 25 COPIES WITH EXTRA PORTFOLIO OF SIGNED LITHOGRAPHS
The Homecoming
Curwen Press, 1968.
First illustrated edition. Folio. One of 25 copies (from a greater edition of 200 copies) with an additional suite of plates and signed by Pinter and Cohen. Original green moire cloth, lettering printed in black. Nine full page (including two double page) abstract lithographs by Harold Cohen. The portfolio contains the same nine lithographs as loose plates each signed and dated by Cohen. A fine copy, spines slightly browned, housed together in an olive cloth slipcase.
Pinter's masterpiece of sixties theatre, regarded by many as his finest work and helping to usher in an era of postmodern drama, was premiered in 1965. This edition is accompanied by suitably postmodern illustrations by Harold Cohen, who later pioneered the concept of autonomous computer produced art.
