Poetry From Oxford in Wartime
The Fortune Press, 1945.
First edition. Original blue boards, gilt titles to spine, top edge only cut with some pages unopened, in the dust wrapper. A fine copy in a very good dustwrapper indeed, with a small chip to the head of a tanned spine.
The second published book to include poems by Philip Larkin, Poetry From Oxford In Wartime, prints ten of the poet's poems for the first time. It was printed in February 1945, before all ten poems were later published in Larkin's first book, The North Ship, in the July of that year.
