A charming page long autograph letter from Peggy Fortnum, illustrator of the Paddington Bear books. Incorporated into the letter is a delightful original colour drawing of Paddington, which is about 9cm x 8cm. Bright, clean condition. There is one horizontal crease in the top section of the letter not affecting the drawing.
Peggy Fortnum was the original illustrator of the Paddington Bear books. Her original artwork is very rarely offered for sale.
The letter written to a child says, "I have tried to draw a happy Paddington just for you" and "like you [Paddington] is helpful and cannot understand why some people do not think so. However, it all seems to come our right in the end!"
