First edition. 8vo. Original pink cloth with elaborate gilt decoration, in the original pictorial dustwrapper, with decorations printed in pink. All edges gilt. Many black and white illustrations by H. J. Ford. A very good copy indeed, spine lightly faded, previous ownership name on the front blank and pages 299 - 304 with marginal creases where corners have been folded. The dustwrapper has been backed with paper and shows loss to the spine and joints, rear flap present but detached. Nonetheless this is a rare survival of a 19th century dustwrapper.
Stories for this volume are all traditional fairy tales from around the world. There are stories of European origin as well as Japanese and African legends. Tales include: The Snow-Queen; The Flying Trunk and How the Dragon was Tricked. The fifth of the Lang fairy books
