First edition. 8vo. Original violet cloth elaborately decorated in gilt to the spine and upper cover, in the original printed dustwrapper. All edges gilt. Eight colour plates and 25 full page steel engravings by H.J. Ford as well as numerous illustrations in the text. A near fine copy, slight rubbing to the spine ends, in a very good dustwrapper, which has a few chips to the spine ends and corners and is fragile along the flap hinges, but nevertheless is an attractive example of the rare original dustwrapper.
