Twenty-four full page black and white plates, plus nearly forty other line drawings, designs for chapters, head and tail pieces, title page etc. A very good copy indeed, with just a patch of fading to the lower spine and none of the usual foxing to the contents. One of Jessie King's undoubted masterpieces.
After the High History of the Holy Graal in 1903, this was Jessie's most important early commission. Eminently suited to her style of knights and ladies, Morris's Arthurian poems are exquisitely illustrated.
