Publisher's full red leather with gilt lettering and vignettes, by Zaehnsdorf. All edges gilt and pictorial endpapers. Line drawings throughout by E.H. Shepard. A fine copy.
Inspired by a trip to the zoo to see a bear, and his son Christopher's teddies, A.A. Milne proceeded to write one of the most renowned children's books of all time.
Fifty years on, and twenty years after A.A. Milne's death, this luxurious edition was created by Methuen to be signed by Christopher Robin. First illustrated by E.H. Shepard in 1926, and again in this edition which is profusely illustrated with the same recognisable characters.
