Finely bound in full calf by Ingalton Drake, with raised bands to spine with morocco title label, lettered in gilt. Gilt scrolls and floral motif to the sections. Gilt heraldic vignettes and ornamental borders to the boards. Gilt dentelles with marbled end papers. All edges gilt. Eton presentation page bound in and completed in manuscript by Eton Headmaster and noted rower, Edmond Warre, dated 1894. Engraved frontispiece portrait of Gray with three further engraved plates. A near fine copy, some spotting to the covers.
Includes Gray's "Elegy written in a Church Yard" and the poet's reverie of his schooldays at Eton in "Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College".
