First edition, deluxe issue, number 336 of 400 copies, signed by both author and artist. Large 4to. Publisher's full white buckram over bevelled boards. Gilt embossed decoration to the upper cover and spine, plus decoration in green, brown and blue. Top edge is gilt and others are untrimmed. Blue silk page marker present. Sixty seven colour plates under captioned tissue guards, plus a fold out map to rear. A very good copy indeed, slightly toned to spine but otherwise bright. Browning to front endpapers, but otherwise clean internally.
One of 400 copies, originally priced at £2-2s (2 guineas).
