First edition illustrated by Rountree. 4to. In original green pictorial cloth with elaborate gilt decoration to spine and colour illustration to upper cover. Top edge gilt and line drawings on the endpapers. Wonderfully illustrated with ninety two colour illustrations, many of which are full page, all packed full of colour and action. Each page is printed on coated stock which gives the book a luxurious feel. A near fine copy, the pictorial cloth bright and attractive, and with no loss to the enamel on the spine. Slightly cocked, with some light spotting to the page edges, but much nicer than usual.
Rountree's illustrations are a riot of colour, suiting this wacky tale to perfection.
