Charmingly illustrated Christmas gift edition with illustration by Hudson. 4to. In original blue cloth with elaborate gilt design and titles. Twelve colour plates mounted under tissue guards with printed captions, plus numerous line drawings in the text, printed in orange and black. A near very good copy, spotting to the page edges, fore-edge of one plate mount a little ragged and a dent to the fore-edge of the upper cover.
A striking gift edition of Alice, with Hudson's page headers in black and orange providing a decidedly Art Deco feel to the text. The colour plates are vibrant and slightly whacky.
