First edition. Edition de Luxe, number 10 of 250 copies signed by Heaton Cooper. 4to. Saffron buckram, green title labels lettered in gilt, in pictorial dustwrapper. Sixteen plates in colour, under captioned tissue guards, 36 plates in monochrome and two maps. A near fine copy, trace of spotting to the edges, in a near fine dustwrapper, closed tear to the upper cover and a little shelf wear. Uncommonly good condition.

Heaton Cooper's name is synonymous with the Lake District, "with sunlight on the fells and the translucent depths of mountain tarns." [Obit]
