First edition, variant issue. Issued without half title and with a catalogue of advertisements. Original black cloth, lettered in gilt, with a gilt vignette to the upper cover. A very good copy indeed, with slight wear to the spine ends but gilt still bright.
The short story "Typhoon" was originally serialised in Pall Mall Magazine between January and March 1902 and first published in book form in America by G.P. Putnam's Sons in September 1902. This UK edition is the first edition of these collected stories and is the first edition in book form of all the stories except "Typhoon" and in addition is the first appearance in print of "Falk".
