An excellent copy, book and dustwrapper in very good condition indeed. Published according to war time economy standards the flimsy paper of the dustwrapper mean that the novel is hard to find in attractive condition.
This beautifully written children's story is an enchanting fantasy tale recounting the adventures of Moon Princess, Maria Merryweather. There is a Romeo and Juliet type theme with warring clans the De Noirs and the Merryweathers; mystical appearance of the little white Unicorn and the comic figure of the governess, Miss Heliotrope. The novel was filmed in 2008 as "The Secret of Moonacre".
Winner of the Carnegie Medal for children's literature.
