Grimms' Other Tales A New Selection by Wilhelm Hansen: Translated & Editied by Ruth Michaelis-Jena and Arthur Ratcliff
Golden Cockerel Press, 1956.
First edition, number 141 of 500 copies printed on mould made paper. 8vo. Original publisher's purple cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine and with gilt vignettes to the upper and rear cover. Top edge gilt and others uncut. Ten wood engravings by Gwenda Morgan. A very good copy indeed, with the habitual spine fading.
Wilhelm Hansen selected 50 tales not previously published in English, but described by Edgar Taylor who made the first English translation, as "most curious" and "of great merit". Gwenda Morgan's striking wood cuts "complement these folk tales to perfection".
