First illustrated edition. 8vo. Blue cloth, lettered in white on the spine and with a flying goose in black and white on the upper cover, in pictorial dustwrapper. Decorative endpapers. Four colour plates and many black and white illustration in the text by Peter Scott. A very good copy, patches of fading to the spine which match the large chips in the good dustwrapper, which remains bright.
This is the author's first fictional work and best known story, touching on the evacuation of Dunkirk.
