First edition. 8vo. Green cloth elaborately stamped in gilt. All edges gilt. Numerous illustrations in black and white by H. J. Ford. A very good copy indeed, spine a little darkened and slight edge wear.
The third of the Lang fairy book series. Includes The Blue Bird, The Three Little Pigs and The Three Bears (Goldilocks). In the Preface, Lang writes "This is the third, and probably the last, of the Fairy Books" however popular demand resulted in a further nine being published, the last being The Lilac Fairy Book, issued in 1910.
