The Thoughts of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius Antoninus - Duplicate Set of Plates
Riccardi Press, 1909.
Housed in publisher's folding linen case are the twelve plates illustrating the story of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Six of the plates are signed by the artist in pencil on the plate mount. A very good example of this rare portfolio of plates. Linen case rather dusty.
There was a special edition of 12 copies of this work printed on japon and accompanied by a duplicate set of plates. This set being one of the duplicate sets of plates. Uncommon in its own right, but especially so with the artist's signature.
