The Lucie Attwell Children's Book
Partridge, 1932.
Text by Attwell and others. 4to. Pictorial paper covered boards. Full colour frontis, pictorial title page and three further full colour plates and eight two tone plates. As always there are a host of line drawings throughout the stories. A very good copy indeed. There are a couple of 1932 newspaper clippings to the front pastedown and previous owner's name stamped neatly to the front endpaper.
Loosely inserted is a charming advertising, brochure with a quote from Mary Macleod Moore "What better gift can the parents or godparents of a child bestow upon that infant than the foundation of a collection of books that are worthwhile?" (The Sunday Times July 1932).
