First edition set. Three volumes. 8vo. Finely bound in contemporary half red crushed morocco by the W.H.Smith bindery to a design by Douglas Cockerell. Raised bands and gilt lettering to the spine. All edges gilt. Illustrated with black and white plates, being mainly portraits. A handsome set, in near fine condition. A few pages have light corner creases.
