First edition. Grey cloth boards with red and gold vignette to upper cover, and red and gilt titles to spine. From the library of Siegfried Sassoon. Fore-edge untrimmed, top edge red. In a printed pictorial dustwrapper with titles and vignettes in black to the cover and spine. A loose 1939 catalogue slip contains De La Mare's poem "Books". Frontispiece with a repeat of the dustwrapper design, black and white vignette to title page, and black and white illustrations within by Barnett Freedman. A very good copy with some tanning to the spine and marks to the boards, pages 129-192 bound out of order after page sixteen, in a very good (priceclipped) dustwrapper, with some tanning to the spine and wear to the head.
