Point Counter Point
Chatto & Windus, 1928.
First edition. Signed limited edition, number 55 of 256 copies signed by Huxley. Olive green buckram lettered in gilt on the spine. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. A very good copy indeed, spine lightly sunned as usual.
Huxley's longest novel and, after Brave New World, his most significant and most highly regarded work. As with Crome Yellow, the characters are mainly thinly veiled caricatures of friends and acquaintances, but unlike that earlier work Point Counter Point shows a more satirical development in Huxley's writing.
