Two complete sets of six photographic postcards each from Shackleton's Nimrod expedition, both sets with their rare original paper envelopes. The portrait of Shackleton is signed by him. All postcards are unused and in fine condition. The paper envelope for the first set has a couple of long closed tears, but remains complete.
An uncommon survival of two rare sets of Antarctic postcards signed by Shackleton.
PROVENANCE: From the collection of Rev. G. Cartwright of Syndenham, where Shackleton spent his formative years after moving from Ireland.
