INSCRIBED BY FORSTER
Goldsworthy Lowes Dickinson
Arnold, 1934.
First edition. Original blue cloth, lettered in gilt, top edge blue in (supplied) photographic dustwrapper. Author's presentation copy, inscribed on the front end paper, "Peter, from Morgan 17.4.34". Nine photographic plates. A very good copy indeed, with just slight wear to the spine ends and corners in a very good dustwrapper which just shows trivial wear to the spine ends and a small nick to the rear joint.
Peter is likely to be Peter Savary both a friend of Forster and a pupil of Dickinson's at Cambridge. Dickinson, then sixty, had a habit of falling in love with straight young men, which he duly did with Savary.
