Collection of Family Photographs

A collection of c. 30, black and white photos of Jessie M. King, E.A. Taylor, their daughter Merle Taylor and various family friends. Condition is mainly very good, though some prints show signs of fading.
Jessie M. King and her husband EA Taylor were central figures in the development of the famous Glasgow School style and influential in 20th century design, establishing art schools in Paris and an artist's community in the Scottish town of Kirkcudbright. Jessie was great friends with other Glasgow Girls. These photographs, which come from the estate of merle Taylor (Jessie and Ernest's daughter) offer snapshots of family life; Jessie and Merle playing a garden, Jessie on Arran, and various shots of Ernest and Jessie.
