Boating for Beginners

WINTERSON, Jeanette

WINTERSON, Jeanette Boating for Beginners

Methuen, 1985.

First edition. The less common hardback issue. Black boards, lettered in gilt, in pictorial dustwrapper designed by Paula Youens. Press Release and Review Slip loosely laid in. Black and white illustrations by Paula Youens. A fine copy, with a small bookplate on the front pastedown, in a very good dustwrapper, which has a faded spine as usual and a little fading to the orange on the upper cover.

The author's second and scarcest novel, also simultaneously issued in paperback. Published only 3 months after her award winning Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, it is "even more bizarre than most of the Old Testament and certainly a lot funnier... it takes us back to life before the Flood with Noah, the family man who has some odd ideas about house design" [Blurb]
