First edition, rare publisher's full red crushed morocco binding with gilt lettering and vignettes of Christopher Robin, Eeyore, Kanga, Owl and Tigger to the upper cover and gilt lettering to the spine. 8vo. Top edge gilt and the silk page marker present. Housed in original brown card box. The pictorial endpapers and many line drawings are by E.H. Shepard. A fine copy with bookplate and gift inscription to binder's blank, in a very good box with one corner lacking its fastening and a gift inscription to upper cover.
Very uncommon in this deluxe binding.
In this book we see the old favourites joined by Tigger and we learn the vital lesson that "Tiggers don't climb trees".
