The Tower

YEATS, W.B.

YEATS, W.B. The Tower

Macmillan, 1928.

First edition. Original green cloth, with a design by Thomas Sturge Moore blocked in gilt of the titular Tower, Yeats's Ballylee Castle, reflected in a pool of water, in the original pictorial dustwrapper of the same design. A fine copy in a fine dustwrapper, with just a shade of wear to the base of the spine.

An unusually nice copy of a work that contains "the greatest poetry of Yeats in his difficult later manner... [It] constitutes a peak in English poetry" (Connolly, 100 Key Books Of The Modern Movement)

PROVENANCE: Bookplate of the American war poet Coman Leavenworth to front free endpaper.

Wade 158. Connolly 56.
