Art editor of Punch and a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, Reynolds' best known book illustrations are his Dickensian scenes, which perfectly suit the mood of the text. Punch editor, and fellow cartoonist, Cyril Bird (Fougasse) described Reynolds as “a latter-day John Leech”.
