"one of the leading spirits in the renaissance of British sporting art"

Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin was a British artist and illustrator, best known for his depictions of dogs, horses and rural pursuits.  His style is one of bright colour, and  strong lines and is often humorous in content.  He learnt his trade at what was to become The Royal College of Art and quickly found work as an illustrator of books and magazines.  His interest in hunting , horses and dogs increased when he moved into the Henley area and became Master of the South Berkshire Hunt.
