Two original ink, water-colour and gouache paintings for the opening pages of 'King Arthur's Sword'. Mounted together with the proposed text for the opening pages of the book. Internal mount size, 33cm x 47cm. in very good condition.
Original artwork for Le Cain's first book.
"A literary agent had brought me a typescript and a sheaf of illustrations for a story about King Arthur; he had received them from a friend of the artist, who was said to be too shy to approach a publisher except at third hand.
