First edition. 4to. Red cloth with gilt titles on the upper cover and spine. The upper cover includes an inserted panel of white buckram, elaborately decorated in gilt, and the spine is stamped with gilt decoration. Top edge red. Sixteen Art Nouveau colour plates mounted under captioned tissue guards (one with very small edge turn) and many line drawings, some full page. A good copy, spine is heavily faded, otherwise in very good condition indeed.
Many of Hans Andersen's most popular stories are included in this delightful book, including The Snow Queen, The Little Mermaid, and The Emperor's New Clothes.
